soon after the release of clan recordable, telafonica found themselves championed again by clan analogue.  this time, a full release compilation - solid gold (cognition 4).  originally conceived as a compilation to showcase music with an electro feel, telafonica was a little surprised that the least electro sounding track they submitted was chosen.  the compilation itself doesn't sound hugely electro, but is still excellent and features some of our favourite australian producers.  to be on a compilation alongside itchee and scratchee (note the slight spelling change!) was a particular thrill.

telafonica's featured track is ,
for some bizarre reason, named a number of things.  the back cover lists it as 'paris bell', the inside liner notes list it as 'japan bell'.  the actual name bestowed upon it by telafonica is 'japan bell disco'.  the track is an outtake from the recordings made for the 'dos' double e.p..  while the band loves the track and it has become a live favourite, it was deemed to not quite fit the mood of either of the discs from 'dos'.  so it was left out, to hopefully be revived for a later project.  this turned out to be the project.  the track was composed on a playstation with the music 2000 software, with live guitar dubbed over the top.
