not too long after starting to make music, aural industries, the label which had released thug's 'isolated rhythm chock' album, put out a call for artists to remix tracks from the album to submit for a remix compilation that was being put together.  at that time, telafonica hadn't actually heard the original of 'just blue', the track they downloaded a handful of mp3 samples of from the aural industries site.  but they decided to use this fact to create a remix that wasn't reliant on the original, and deliberately avoided hearing the original until after they had finished the remix.

the remix was created by a process of cutting, pasting and effecting the sounds in soundforge.  at this point in time, telafonica's own music was being completely created using hardware samplers, sequencers and drum machines, so the experiment in soundforge was the first in pc software.  sections were reversed, delayed and reverbed until an ambient bed of sounds emerged, making the remix what it is.

the album didn't see release until mid 2002, due to financial constraints at aural industries.  from what we can find, aural industries itself has gone out of action - a great shame as it had released some excellent music and john - the force behind the label - was a passionate and friendly supporter of australia's underground electronic scene.  we'd love to hear how he and the label are, if anyone knows!

the album itself flows clearly from thug's idm stylings, and is probably one of telafonica's favourite compilations they have been included on, particularly in terms of listening to it as a cohesive whole.
